Spring in the New Forest

Lovely wheat reed re-thatch & re-ridge

Team TW thatchers – Chris & Harry – have been hard at work over the last couple of weeks on the latest thatching project.  Wearing T-shirts and big smiles they were making the most of the  New Forest spring sunshine (they even got Harry in a pair of shorts!) The re-thatch and front re-ridge is in wheat reed and progress is going well, with the thatching project over half way through and looking good for the coating and re-ridging which be started soon – if only the sunshine would come back! However, it is still wonderful to see how beautiful a well thatched roof looks, all natural, all sustainable and all eco-friendly.
