Hot, cold, wet, windy

Thatching in every flavour weather.

Team TW have finally completed their latest New Forest project with all an hands on deck full re-thatch and front re-ridge in wheat reed.  The project got under way in glorious sunshine and even saw Harry sporting a pair of shorts and endured some very  wet and blustery conditions and finished in some glorious sunshine.  But nothing stops a thatcher, not even horizontal rain and the final stages and clear up were a pretty wet affair, thank goodness the sun came out as the scaffold came down.  A normal Spring in the New Forest.

The re-thatch went well although the front re-ridging took little longer than expected, but if a job is worth doing… We hope the client is pleased with the job, we think it is looking pretty smart.  Next Team TW are taking on a refurbishment job to clean off some debris by pulling out and re-dressing certain areas of reed which will dramatically increase the expectancy of the roof.

Let’s enjoy the sunshine now it is back.
